Kashmir University Postpones UG Exams Amid Summer Vacation
Srinagar: University of Kashmir (KU) has postponed the undergraduate 2nd and 4th semester exams originally scheduled for July 15 and 16, following the declaration of a summer break in Kashmir colleges.
An order from the Assistant Controller of Examinations at KU stated that the postponement is a direct result of the summer vacation announcement for colleges in the Kashmir division.
“It is notified for the information of all UG candidates of 2nd and 4th semesters that their examinations scheduled to be held from 15-07-2024 and 16-07-2024 respectively have been postponed due to the summer break in the colleges,” read the notice.
The university has assured students that new exam dates will be announced soon.
The summer break was previously announced by the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department, affecting all government degree colleges in the Kashmir division and winter zone areas of the Jammu division. Principal Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Alok Kumar, specified that the vacation period will run from July 15 to July 24.
“All the Government Degree Colleges falling in the Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division shall observe summer vacation with effect from July 15, 2024, to July 24,” the order stated.
